Simulation games can be some of the most immersive titles in gaming. If you’re a fan of Turtles in Time, Shredder’s Revenge will be right up your alley. It features similar button-mashing action with a few new additions to spice things up, such as an RPG-lite leveling system and an unlockable character. The Monster Hunter games are both incredibly popular and notoriously difficult to get into.

Challenge Rank – You can share and compare scores with players around the world for various Challenge Modes, including Endless Fever, Endless Puyo, Tiny Puyo, Sprint, Marathon, and Ultra. Leaderboards will let you show off your own top score and you’ll be able to take stock of the competition. Another great mode that’s been included is swap mode, in which every 25 seconds you’ll be flipped onto a new stage that has you either playing Tetris or Puyo Puyo. You can play either puzzler – Puyo Puyo or Tetris – but the strength of any crossover is really in how the two interact. The Puyo Puyo Tetris-exclusive mixed mode throws both Puyos and Tetrominos at you, which really pushes your abilities to the limit.

Nintendo’s long-running Mario Party series is like a video board game with a bunch of wacky minigames thrown in. The Switch Nintendo console version also has a rhythm-dancing party game that’s a good little workout, too, and a collaborative game where players paddle down a river together. My family loves this one — it’s just overall an excellent game. There are plenty of Mario games on the Switch, and a lot of them are listed below. Super Mario 3D World originally was made for the long-gone Wii U, but its mix of local and online multiplayer offers a lot of fun chaos on the Switch. An extra game called Bowser’s Fury only uses the second player as a helper, but this bonus game’s a welcome extra.

Besides the fact that the rules and attack patterns are not entirely clear, there’s some horrific glitches that stunt the game’s potential. I preferred to take a defensive posture when I played, focusing on those attacking me. However, sometimes I’d knock-out players who were targeting me, only their target would remain painted on me for the remainder of the game. When using the “attackers” target, if nobody is attacking you, the game defaults to a random target if you manage to hit anything higher than a double.

Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2023 Announced

While there is plenty of content in single player mode, the lack of an endless free mode is somewhat annoying, and having to connect to online for a similar mode doesn’t count. The Adventure Mode is a nice touch, even if you don’t care about the story twenty levels in. The value is definitely here and the low price makes the package even sweeter. While this is a minor problem in the other modes, it becomes something major in Skill Battle. Once the game gets going, it’s easy for a Tetris player to just keep clearing line after line, frustrating the Puyo Puyo player’s efforts to get their Puyos stacked properly.

There’s even an option from the main menu to jump into a quick game of either series. So those who aren’t fans of games like Tetris likely won’t have an exceptionally good time. I’m pretty impressed with the sheer range of options and play modes.
