We work in both Freehold Borough and Freehold Township — from older homes near downtown to township neighborhoods off Route 9 and Route 33 where pool decks and big patios are the norm.
“Freehold” means two places. Freehold Borough is the Monmouth County seat, with a historic downtown, older homes and narrow lots with sidewalks out front. Freehold Township wraps around it: neighborhoods along Route 9, Route 33 and Route 79, newer homes, larger backyards, and a lot of in-ground pools. Monmouth Battlefield State Park and Freehold Raceway are local landmarks most clients mention when giving directions.
Borough projects
In the borough, we usually rebuild front walks and steps, replace narrow concrete driveways and lay compact backyard patios that make the most of a smaller lot. Access is often tight, so we plan the work and the clean-up around neighbors and the sidewalk.
Township projects
In the township, projects get bigger:
- Pool decks — tearing out tired concrete and installing pavers with a contrasting border
- Full backyard patios with a fire pit, seating walls or an outdoor kitchen
- Driveway replacements in pavers or concrete, often with a border or apron
- Retaining walls where a backyard slopes toward the pool
Built for the long run
Pool decks are where poor base work shows up first. Splash water, freeze-thaw and heavy foot traffic all hit the same area. We excavate below the old deck, compact a new stone base in lifts, pitch the surface away from the pool and lock the edges.

Can you redo the patio around my pool?
Yes. We remove the old deck, rebuild the base and install pavers pitched away from the water, working around coping, skimmers and drains. You can see several pool decks in our gallery.
Do you handle long driveways?
Yes. Long driveways need careful grading and a consistent base along the whole run. We build them in pavers, concrete or asphalt, often with Belgian block edges.
